The Long Green Shore

Russell Crowe is seeking a distributor for his new film he produced and directed about the relief of Port Moresby in 1942. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Australian author John Hepworth.

The march of the Owen Stanley range of New Guinea by the Australians was one of the epic overland expeditions of World War II. Unfortunately not many Americans know about it. The Aussies were the primary fighting force in many battles in New Guinea. The American troops there faired poorly against Japanese at Buna until fully trained and better equipped American forces arrived in huge numbers in 1943.

Crowe was unable to secure a US distributor. I don't know if this movie will ever make it to theatres, or even be released on DVD.
