
Based upon the true story of Miriam Shafer, a Lithuanian who survived both the German occupation and the Soviet era, Miriam is the first film I know of that tells the story of the Baltics during World War II. Abused by both Germany and Russia, they suffered greatly under both Stalin and Hitler.
