The Jumo 211 Engine powered many different German aircraft, including the Heinkel He-111 medium bomber, Junkers Ju-88 multirole attack aircraft, Ju-87 dive bomber, some Focke-Wulf Ta-154 fighters, and the giant transport aircraft Messerschmitt Me-323 six-engine prototype. This engine was recovered in 1974 with the tail fin of a Heinkel He-111H shot down on April 26, 1940 over Storvatnet Lake in Norway. | |
