The Lancaster could hold 22,000 pounds of bombs (10,000 kilograms) but 14,000 pounds (6,400 kilograms) was more common. Special Lancasters were fitted with the Grand Slam bomb, a single 22,000-pound monster that was used against the U-boat pens in France. | |
