For the 72 Million

1940

The shocks begin for the European Allies. France, the largest and most technically advanced army in Europe, falls to German Blitzkrieg tactics in May-June 1940. The United Kingdom is left to stand alone in July & August against the Nazis — virtually without defenses against a Nazi invasion. Only a few fighter pilots and a new Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, stand in their way. Meanwhile, English civilians are targeted by air in a way never seen before. Italy declares war and invades North Africa.

In China, the Japanese realize that they cannot make any more gains with their current military strength. They hold coastal cities, but cannot advance into the Chinese interior. Chiang Kai-Shek is more worried about the Communists than the Japanese.
