Brazil in World War II

Brazil was an Allied combatant in World War II. Her soldiers fought in Italy and France and a squadron of pilots flew American-built Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighters in the Mediterranean.

American B-24 Liberator long-range anti-submarine patrols flew out of Brazil against Nazi U-boats.

Brazil lost several ships to Nazi wolf packs.

943 Brazilians were killed in action and 4,222 were wounded or missing.
